Back at home...

Feels a little strange, no? The transition from what we went through to where I am now hit me like a truck in the middle of the night last night. I'd be curious to know if anyone else feels a little rattled by the quick return to "reality."

(For instance -- driving a car for the first time in 8 or 9 days was almost surreal).

oh my gosh, yes!! i hate that i had to drive to work. and everything is so spread out. so sad. and first thing this morning, Bob is talking to me about Mech Rooms and my eyes glazed over. I thought, "this is cruel." What was it Tim was saying about changing the world with nice CD's....? hmmmmm

I noticed I called you out on one of my blogs...we were arguing before we even met! I love it! how's the weather down there? Its freezing here. I think i am going to look up cost of living in Boston now.

I will agree about the driving thing... that was a little weird.

WHO DEY!!!

I will also agree about getting thrown back into the fire. That was a little let down.

WHO DEY!!!

And, it is VERY cold here too. Somewhere around 9 degrees this morning and a high of 25 or so today… I wish I was back in Boston, in the warmth (hahaha). I thought Cincinnati was south of Boston… you know where it would be warmer.

WHO DEY!!!

I would be curious to see the average income. Try this website if nothing else too...
www.zipskinny.com
It is a good website to check different zip codes data.

Tom Parks wasnt kidding when he said there would be a "let down" today. Its nice to be back with my husband and sleep in my own bed - but I miss you guys! Funny how only one week can change your life! :)

tell me about it!! i can't stop thinking about how i am going to change the world. i think i am still exhausted from the week, kind of dizzy today! i really miss the comraderie and talking about such exciting things. I got an "ohh, thats interesting" when I was explaining the met school systems. why is real life so different??

I literally spent all day printing off new copies of resumes and portfolios, getting ready to travel to new companies tomorrow to see if I can find a better job! Thanks for motivating me to look for something new, beyond my comfort zone, something that will challenge me...and perhaps provide me with benefits.

Pros about being home:

A. Talking to my wife in person
B. Hearing about my daughter's day
C. Not having to flush the urinal 5 times before having a fresh bowl
D. Having a shower with water pressure above "drool" level
E. Paying 89 cents for a giant cup of coffee
F. Sleeping in a bed where I know the history of the sheets and comforter

Cons about being back:
A. I miss my pals already
B. Not having foamcore whipped at my head at 2:30am - its a con, trust me
C. Questioning my very existence
D. Trying to explain my level of enthusiasm to anyone who wasn't there
E. That sick, empty feeling that I'm going to have to wait until August to feel that enthusiasm again

Oh and Chad: Today I didn't have have to use my AK - it was a good day

I like the question that Melissa brought up, why is real life so different? It is a shame really.

Ironically, Eric, I did not have to use my AK today either or my 9. Imagine that, it really was a good day.

Everyone get home ok?

I think Eric said it best with this line:

"E. That sick, empty feeling that I'm going to have to wait until August to feel that enthusiasm again."

That just about nails it.

You guys have AKs? Nice. I'll bring my tank next time and we can wreak havoc on the Back Bay.

I must have missed the part where Tom Parks said there would be a let-down today. They should have sent us all home with counselors to help us get through the first 36 hours.

hey let me know and i'll bring shawns 249 squad automatic weapon. it was really weird driving this morning and when i got to work i was shoved back into the reality of work. i had my standing monday morning meeting and it lasted for 2.5 hours (and that's short!!) its really good being back home though. august will be here soon enough...see you all then.

Hey, I just read your blog now. I'm a little late in response, but yeah, it's weird to be back home. To top it off, crap had hit the fan when I got back to the office. I found out that they had fired 3 people and are reducing hours on some people. I was one of them who will be working less than 40 hours starting Feb. So, yeah, the roller coaster never stops. It least I don't feel all that bad. After coming back, I feel very optimistic about finding another job or maybe moving up to Boston. That Cambridge 7 is looking really good right now. I think I can get used to the cold....
